These Terms and Conditions outline how Shaping Interiors works and what to expect throughout the design process. Engaging Shaping Interiors means agreeing to the terms below, which aim to ensure a positive and professional experience for everyone involved.

 

 

Scope of Services

Interior design and styling services may include concept development, layout planning, finishes and materials selection, furniture sourcing, styling, and coordination with trades and suppliers as needed. A clear scope of work will be provided for each project.

 

Two-Phase Pricing Structure

Phase 1: Concept Design
A fixed fee is set based on the project brief and initial consultation. This phase includes layout planning, materials and finishes selections, and mood/sample boards.

Phase 2: Implementation & Styling
This phase is billed hourly due to the variable nature of tasks such as trade meetings, finalising dimensions, on-site coordination, and furniture placement. Some projects may require only a few hours, while others may be more involved.

All fees cover design services only. Costs related to trades, materials, furnishings, accessories, or third-party services are not included.

 

Payment Terms

Invoices are issued at project milestones or regular intervals. Payment is due within [insert timeframe, e.g., 7 days of issue]. Late payments may incur a monthly interest charge. Time spent on sourcing, revisions, or coordination beyond the original scope will be invoiced accordingly.

 

Trades and Third-Party Contractors

Some projects require trades or external services.

• Trades recommended by Shaping Interiors operate independently and are not employed by the business.

• Clients are responsible for engaging, contracting, and paying trades directly.

• Shaping Interiors is not liable for the work, conduct, timelines, or outcomes of third-party contractors.

 

Design Drawings and Visuals

• Design drawings, 3D visuals, and floor plans reflect the intended design outcome.

• All dimensions are to guide the design intent and must be verified on site by trades before fabrication or installation.

• Trades are responsible for working within applicable codes and standards. If changes are needed due to regulations or limitations, they must be discussed with Shaping Interiors prior to proceeding.

• Trades must not make substitutions or alterations without valid reason and written approval. Coordination required for any changes is billable at the standard hourly rate.

• All design direction is provided by Shaping Interiors. The overall vision, finishes, layouts, and specifications form a cohesive concept and must be respected.

 Design Ownership and Attribution

• All designs, drawings, specifications, and styling direction remain the property of Shaping Interiors.

• Builders, suppliers, and other third parties may not claim ownership of the design or use project images without clearly crediting Shaping Interiors.

• Unauthorized sharing or misattribution of work may result in formal action. Shaping Interiors reserves the right to showcase projects in its own marketing and portfolio.

Creative Process and Timelines

Design work at Shaping Interiors is thoughtful and deliberate. It includes time to research, develop ideas, reflect on possibilities, and ensure the best outcome for the space.

• Pauses in communication may reflect time spent in creative development and are not an indication of inaction.

• Clients are encouraged to trust the process. Regular updates will be provided at key points, and extended creative development time will be communicated.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

Either party may end the agreement with written notice. Any services completed up to that point will be invoiced.

Legal and Liability

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Shaping Interiors is not responsible for delays, errors, or defects arising from third-party products, suppliers, or trades.
