Rye Holiday Accommodation Styling Project

Timmins Rest

Location

Rye, Mornington Peninsula

Timmins Rest is a stunning coastal Rye holiday home styled to tailor for families and friends to getaway anytime of the year to relax and have an enjoyable leisurable experience.

Shaping Interiors was hired to fully style and decorate the 3 guest bedrooms, the living room, kitchen and dining areas. This consisted of selecting furniture, art, lighting, indoor plants, rugs, and sheer curtains to go with the existing county, coastal features of the house. Fabrics for the cushions were hand picked and made.

The projects process was working with the existing elements and working with the clients ideas and likes. Colours and textures was a strong focus throughout the decision making which created a harmonising flow throughout the house, yet each area still has it specially uniqueness.

The colour scheme was inspired by the artwork in guest bedroom 2; two sea birds. The palette consists of warm mustards, whites and blacks, which also happens to be the clients favourite colour combination. Being a coastal holiday home, timbers and textures was also important, plus the client loves textures.

Client’s Kind Words

“I was apprehensive about engaging the services of an interior designer as I thought such a service would never be at a cost that I could afford. However I reached out to Rebecca, and discussed what I was wanting to do and the kind of budget that I had to work with. She immediately put me at ease by working within my budget and I was excited to get started on my project. Rebecca had to work with what was already there. There was no budget to change floors or paint colors etc. She did an absolutely amazing job of using the existing color palette to integrate new modern furnishings and decor seamlessly. The best part of working with Rebecca was that she listened to what I liked and didn't like. She understood my style and what I wanted. We collaborated on ideas and final design and I loved every minute of the process. Thanks Rebecca.”
